Areas of application

The Aurica marigold flower tea is used internally and externally.Internally it is used to treat inflammatory changes in the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.It is used externally to treat wounds, including those with poor healing tendencies, as well as lower leg ulcers.

Dosage instructions and method of application

For use in the mouth area, the tea is rinsed or gargled with a warm infusion 2 to 3 times a day.For wound treatment, compresses with the infusion are prepared 2 to 3 times a day.The infusion is made by pouring boiling water (approx. 150 ml) over 1 to 2 teaspoonfuls (approx. 0.8 to 1.6 g) of marigold flowers and, if necessary, straining them through a tea strainer after about 10 to 15 minutes.

Contraindications

There are no known contraindications.However, there are no sufficient studies on the use of marigold flowers during pregnancy and breastfeeding or in children under 12 years of age.Therefore, preparations made from marigold flowers should not be used by these groups of people.

Mode of action

The ingredients of marigold work as a natural mixture.The plant itself has bright yellow or orange flower heads and is found in central and southern Europe, western Asia and the USA .The main ingredients are flavonoids, saponins and triterpenes.Saponins can cause cells to burst and therefore have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects.Together with flavonoids and triterpenes, they accelerate the healing of superficial wounds.

Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children and protected from light and moisture.After the expiry date, the product should no longer be used.
